Our Kindergarten program is funded by Alberta Education and we therefore follow the rationale and philosophy that has been prepared by Alberta Education. The purpose of Kindergarten is to provide learning experiences that are developmentally appropriate in order to meet the diverse needs of children and promote a positive attitude toward lifelong learning.

(Ages 3-4)

3-Mornings 8:45am-11:45am (M/W/F)

3-Afternoon 12:30pm-3:30pm (M/W/F)

Tuition $250 per month

*Please note all children must be independent in the washroom to enrol.

The main purpose of the program is to give young children a fun and meaningful introduction to a preschool environment, where they can learn to interact well with other children and adults.  In the process children are being well prepared for Kindergarten and beyond. Manipulative and creative activities now focus more specifically on pre-reading, pre-writing, and pre-math skills, and children are encouraged to plan and share their activities of the day.

Speech-Language & Occupation Therapy

As part of our effort to meet your child’s educational needs at The Little Schoolhouse, we provide the opportunity for free Early Childhood Screening and Assessment.  Through our private service provider, Bragg Creek Education Services Association, a Speech-Language Pathologist and Occupational Therapist screen and assess young children ages 3-5 years to identify possible areas of focus in speech-language, fine or gross motor, and sensory development.

If needs are identified, your child might be eligible for assistance funded by Alberta Education, which is designed to get children ready for grade school.  Screening takes place in class every September and forms will be send home to every family.
