Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we are required to provide all students with individual materials and supplies to support their learning. As a result, we are asking parents to supply a few more items for the children than we have in past years. Please let us know if you are unable to provide any of the following for your child. We have individual bins prepared and labelled to hold these items.
2 glue sticks
1 package of thin washable markers
1 box of coloured pencil crayons
2 bottles of hand sanitizer
2 boxes of tissues
3 tubs of Playdough
1 box of crayons
1 roll of white paper towel
1 set of magnetic uppercase and lowercase letters
THINGS TO REMEMBER
Please bring your child to school on the first day with a pair of indoor shoes, labeled with his/her name. They should be easy to put on, for transitions, and they will stay at school for the year. All children should come to school each day with a backpack large enough to fit a library book and a lunch box for transporting everything to and from school.
Each day, students are expected to bring a healthy, nut-free snack, as well as a spill-proof water bottle that they can sip through the day.
***PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANYTHING WITH NUTS OR NUT PRODUCTS***
Labeling all coats, backpacks, footwear and lunch kits is extremely important, especially at the beginning of the year when we don't always know what belongs to who!
The school door will remain locked until 8:45am, while we are preparing materials and activities for the day.
At this time, parents will not be permitted to enter the classroom space. If that guideline should change later in the school year, we will welcome volunteers in the classroom. The success of our program relies on parental involvement and I thank you in advance for your support.
September 2020 Re-Entry Plan
July 21 - Premier Jason Kenney and Education Minister Adriana LaGrange announced the return to in-person classes this fall. Known as Scenario 1, students will enter the 2020-2021 school year in near-normal operations with health measures.
Registration for 2020/2021 is ongoing
Coming this fall we are excited to offer a new 5 mornings a week preschool program!
Spots are still available for the Kindergarten program and limited space is available in the 3-Mornings Preschool program.
There are a number of ways to get involved and be part of this amazing school. Fundraisers, classroom participation, field trips, board of directors, special event organizers are just a few ways to be part of your child's school. You will also get to know the teachers and meet other parents along the way. Because the Little Schoolhouse is privately funded, we rely upon the support of each family to help make this school run at its best.
Bragg Creek Education Services Association (BCESA)
Board of Directors:
As mentioned above, the parent led board consisting of a President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary work together with the Teacher and make up the Board of Directors. This school board operates under the incorporated title of Bragg Creek Education Services Association (BCESA). The board is a volunteer position that is filled by parents currently enrolled at The Little Schoolhouse. It is a one year commitment of about 5 – 10 hours per month, including one board meeting per month. Elections take place at the General Meeting. This is just one of the many ways parents get involved not only in the school but in the community as a whole.
