Classroom Assistant (Preschool)

 

Bragg Creek Educational Services invites applications for a: continuous, part-time (17.5 hours/week, 5 mornings/week)

Learning Support Assistant  - Preschool position at preschools and daycares located in NW and SW Calgary.

The successful candidate will be able to establish a positive rapport with students as well as maintaining effective working relationships with school personnel and outside agencies.

Classroom Responsibilities:

-Assists students as directed by the teacher either in a group setting or with individual students

-Encourages the development of positive self-esteem of students

-Implement, in consultation with the teacher: educational programming

-Monitor and document student progress

-Reinforce instructional strategies as directed by the teacher and IPP in programming for the diverse needs of the students

 

Education/Experience:

-High school diploma or equivalent

-One or more years relevant experience or related post-secondary education

-Teaching Assistant Certificate or enrolled in a teaching assistant program

-CPR/first aid training considered an asset

-Experience working in a school environment

 

Skills/Attributes:

-Outstanding verbal/written communication skills

-Ability to establish a rapport with students

-Excellent organizational skills

-Ability to adapt and manage changing priorities

-Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with a team of educational professionals

Office Manager

 

The Bragg Creek Services Association invites applications for a casual, permanent Office Manager position (20-30 hours/month).

The BCESA a not-for-profit organization that oversees early childhood interventions, including speech and occupational therapy, at multiple sites in the Bow Valley. We are committed to helping small children with available government-funded resources, before entering grade school.

 
Duties & Responsibilities:

- Invoicing & payables

- Liaising with bookkeeper & auditor

- Ordering supplies

- Scheduling & coordinating staff

- Coordinating resources for various sites

- Managing input of data of students, parents and teachers

- Organizing financial, budget and statistical records

- Arranging meetings and appointments

- Travel required to various locations in the Bow Valley

- Able to work evenings and weekends

Professional Skills:

- Highly organized

- Excellent verbal and written skills

- Strong experience in school administration

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel & Word

- Professional etiquette & demeanor

- Willing to work as part of a team

 
Education/Experience:

- High School Diploma or equivalent

- Three or more years of relevant experience

- Experience working in a school environment

- Previous administration/clerical experience
