A little About Ms. Kimberly
Hello, my name is Kimberly Frost-Hunt and I am excited to be the new teacher at the Little School House!
As a parent myself, I know that I will enjoy hearing about my daughter’s teachers when she is ready to start school. So, I would like to take a moment to share a little about myself.
I am a graduate of the Bachelor of Education program at the University of Alberta and am an ATA certified teacher. I have experience in teaching young children, and my last position was teaching pre-kindergarten with the Edmonton Public School Board.
In my career as a teacher, I also have experience teaching children with special needs and that may have access to PUF and working with the networks that support them, including Speech Language Pathologists and Occupational Therapists.
My husband, Dwayne, and I transferred to Calgary in the spring of 2009 and my daughter, Alli, was born last summer. As a family, we enjoy the outdoors and traveling. During the summer, we enjoy hiking, biking and are looking forward to adding camping to the list next year. During the winter, we like to cross-country ski, skate and pretty much be outside as much as weather permits!
I have always enjoyed being creative, and am an avid scrapbooker and card maker. I also enjoy cooking and have recently taken up running again.
My general love for teaching comes from watching students develop and get to know themselves and their peers throughout the year. Education provides an avenue to find the tools to learn and then the sky is the limit! Children at this age in particular are a joy to teach. The world is new to them and to watch them discover it is a true gift.
Thank you for sharing this upcoming school year with me. I look forward to learning about your children as individuals and as a class. We will learn, teach, and grow together!
